December 4th. I've been missing for two days now, hiding underneath the warmth of a willow tree, protecting myself from the frosty chill and crunching snow. No one cares to even look for me. This is the worst year yet, and I haven't even been thirteen for a month.

The leaves crackle beneath me, acting as a nest. How could Lonnie forget about me? No, Lonnie would never forget, at least not about me. She's too nice and sensitive and forgiving. Just believe it, she forgot. No, she wouldn't.

The darkened skies fill an empty space in me, but it doesn't excuse the freezing. Maybe I just want to be found, but I feel so hurt inside, like never before. Sure, other people have problems worse than mine, but right now I'm going to be selfish and only think of myself because that's what I always do; think of myself.

Stupid forest. How I hate forests. Okay, so maybe I don't hate them. Right now I did, because I was on a wild goose chase. Plus, I could hardly see in this place. When I found her, I was going to freeze her for running away. She was making us miss her surprise party, and for that, she would die. Best friend or not, Liz was gonna pay.

"JULIETTE I'M GOING TO TURN YOU INTO A HUMAN POPSICLE WHEN I FIND YOU!" I yelled out to the forest, as I continued on my journey through the weeds. Why would she run away? I purposely avoided her her entire birthday, just so she wouldn't catch on to my surprise. I spent an entire month planning it, and she just decided to run away.

Finally, I found her, and I was angry. Sending ice under her feet so she'd fall, I ran over to her. "Are you insane!? Why did you run away? I OUTTA SMACK YOU." Standing in front of her, I crossed my arms and stared her down. Juliette couldn't run, because I'd just freeze her legs.

Biting my bottom lip, I smile nervously, "You forgot?" it's a question, rather than a statement. This is a side of Lonnie I've never seen before. Well, there was that one time.... Standing up, careful not to slip on the ice summoned beneath me, I tilt my head, "I thought no one remembered.... I'm sorry." I look at her, full of shame, "I was being selfish, but...." I add, pressing on, "why did you ignore me?" raising my eyebrows, I demand a response.
